Unlocking the Power of Community-Led Climate Solutions

In many communities across the Global South, traditional practices and indigenous knowledge offer invaluable insights into sustainable land management, biodiversity conservation, and climate resilience. These approaches, rooted in deep ecological understanding, are critical in confronting the climate crisis and can serve as effective alternatives to corporate-driven initiatives that harm both the environment and local communities. Recognising and integrating indigenous knowledge and community-led practices into climate action is essential to fostering resilience, promoting food security, and supporting sustainable development.

This book examines six case studies from Brazil, Chile, India, Indonesia, Paraguay, and Uganda. Each case study focuses on different climate issues but shares a common theme: people-powered solutions rooted in community engagement, local knowledge, and collective action.
